The student body (Studierendenschaft) is a corporation under public law to which all students of the Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz (except FB06) belong. It is legally represented by the General Students Committee (Allgemeiner Studierendenausschuss - AStA). The tasks of the student body result from § 108 Abs. 4 HochSchG.
