I am a theoretical particle physicist at JGU and explore the basic constituents of matter and the fundamental interactions in the universe. I serve as the Founding Director of the Mainz Institute for Theoretical Physics (MITP). From 2012-2025 I was Spokesperson of the Clusters of Excellence PRISMA and PRISMA+ at JGU.
