Eleonore Kruse has been working at the Department of Northern European and Baltic Languages since 2010 - first as Swedish language instructor, and in 2013 she started coordinating the International MA in Sociolinguistics and Multilingulism. She also coordinates the Language and Society certficate and is the ERASMUS+ departmental coordinator.
Eleonore Kruse studied Northern European and Baltic languages, and German Philology (Magister) at JGU where she also got her PhD. In her dissertation about the Latvian diaspora in Canada she investigated the diaspora's identity formation, feeling of home and belonging, and the maintenance of the linguistic and cultural heritage.
She is also a certified teacher of German and English as a second language, and works as a senior lecturer at Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences.
