Dr. Sarah Neuwirth is a Full Professor for Computer Science and Chair of the "High Performance Computing and its Applications" research group at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz, Germany. Beyond that, Sarah is also the Co-Director of the NHR@SW HPC Center. In 2018, Sarah completed her PhD in computer science at Heidelberg University, Germany. Her research interests include parallel file systems, modular supercomputing, performance engineering, networking, reproducible benchmarking, parallel I/O, and parallel programming models. For her outstanding contributions to high performance computing, Sarah was awarded the "2023 PRACE Ada Lovelace Award for HPC" and the "ZONTA Science Award 2019". She has worked on numerous research collaborations including working with: Jülich Supercomputing Centre (DEEP Project Series, EUPEX), Oak Ridge National Laboratory, BITS Pilani, K K Birla Goa Campus, Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, and Virginia Tech. Her projects are funded by EuroHPC JU, the European Commission, the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF), DOE, ORAU, and ORNL.
