My research focuses on the chemistry of volcanic gases, specifically in volcanic hydrothermal systems. I use the chemical composition of gases and stable isotopes in fumaroles to document the processes affecting volcanic gases as they rise through the volcanic edifice. I am in charge of the Volcanology course in the first year of the bachelor's degree program and the Volcanoes and Atmosphere course in the master's program.
